York Karate squad to work with Excel Sport in bid to drive performance

York Karate can announce that we are very excited to be working with Excel Sport Clinic this year as we seek to continue to build the performance of our young athletes.

Competition often comes down to the smallest of margins and Excel Sport will be able to offer our athletes that edge that could mean the difference between success and failure. They will be providing our squad members with physiotherapy, fitness and conditioning training and injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Adi Hammond (left) and Tom Robinson (Right) run the clinic and are both qualified sports Therapists. They specialise in injury prevention, assessment and rehabilitation along with performance conditioning. They have been providing sports therapy in York since 2010. Both Tom and Adi have worked previously in professional sport and so know what it takes at the very top level of competition. Their bespoke performance and rehab centre will be our new base for driving our squad's performance and working on managing and preventing injuries.

On the 31st January, Excel Sport ran a seminar for the York Karate squad to introduce what they can offer and to provide some useful advice on injury prevention and nutrition. The facilities look fantastic and everyone is keen to get started.

Thank you Tom and Adi for inviting us and we look forward to working together throughout the year!
