York Karate show exceptional skill at the JKS England National Championships

The York Karate Squad travelled down to Nottingham for the final event of the year, the JKS England National Championships. The squad performed magnificently and we now have two JKS National champions at the club, with Finlay Roe winning gold in kata and Anya Holmes-Ellerker winning gold in her kata event. A great way to end 2019!

Both Finlay and Anya dominated their respective categories and earned praise from the judges for their performances. The squad had further success with Jena McNaught putting in a phenomenal performance to win silver in kumite. in what was easily her best performance of the year.

Additional medals came from Anya, Emily and Isobel winning bronze in team kumite and Maurice, Harry and Jena also winning bronze in team kumite.

It was an excellent way to end 2019 for the squad. Attention is already focused on 2020 with the York Karate squad selections taking place on Saturday 11th January at Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy, 12pm - 4pm. All members of York Karate are invited to attend the selections.
