World Karate Federation: Tokyo K1 premier league this weekend

This coming weekend sees Tokyo host the prestigious K1 premier league, with the world's top athletes competing to be crowned champion. With less than 330 days to go before karate makes it's debut ahead of the 2020 Olympic games, the event is seen as a test run for Tokyo.

The event will take place in the incredible Nippon Budokan, essentially a martial arts sports arena, the same venue that will host the Olympic games next year. With over 600 competitors from 79 countries, the event will certainly be a world-class demonstration of karate.
