Success for York Karate at the Autumn technical seminar

Congratulations to Cameron Nakagawa and Kate Hambleton on successfully passing their shodan (black belt) grading exams on the 12th October.

The gradings were completed under the watchful eyes of Alan Campbell Sensei (7th dan and JKS England Chief Instructor) and Matt Sesnei (6th dan and JSK England squad coach). Both were commended on an excellent grading and greatly impressed the examiners.

Kate and Cameron join a now 17 strong black belt group at York Karate and look forward to continuing their karate journey. Both are on the York Karate squad and Kate competes for the JKS England squad, therefore there is plenty for them to work towards in the coming months and years. Black belt (1st dan) is only the first level!
